Palais Harrach is ready to be rented again

Palais Harrach in the first district of Vienna is ready for rental as the agreement with the current tenant, Signa Holding, has been terminated.

The Palais Harrach an der Freyung in Vienna's first district has a rich history. Rebuilt in the 17th century after a fire destroyed the original structure, it has undergone multiple reconstructions. In 1944, it suffered significant damage from a bomb explosion but was later restored and repurposed as a museum. Recently, the office in the first district was occupied by Signa, however, the contract has recently been terminated.

The Palais Harrach is a highly ornate baroque palace that belongs to a foundation established by Karl Wlaschek, the late founder of Billa. While the exact details, including rental prices and availability, are not yet known, preparations are currently underway to get the building ready for occupancy.

The demand for office spaces in Vienna's city centre, especially in representative old buildings like the Palais Harrach, is very high. Tax consultants, law firms, and consulting firms consider the prestigious address in the first district to be of great importance.

Despite the anticipated high rent, the demand for spaces within the palace is expected to be significant. Finding such locations in the inner city requires patience, as they are in short supply in the Vienna office market. The Palais Harrach offers the best of both worlds - the charm of an old building with stucco and high ceilings, along with modern amenities like air conditioning and cabling. It is an ideal choice for companies seeking a representative address in the heart of Vienna.

Interestingly, Vienna's historic centre has also remained its economic centre, which is quite unique from an international perspective. Although a few Signa employees are still working in the office space, the upcoming auctions will gradually empty the premises. The interior of the Signa office will be auctioned off in three batches, with the first auction taking place on January 19th and the others in early February. Bids can currently be submitted online through the Aurena auction house.
