The university of Vienna

The University of Vienna (Universität Wien) is Austria's most prestigious institution of higher education, ranking 151st in the world. It is also the largest and oldest (founded in 1365) German-language university in the world. The high standard of education is shown by the fact that nine Nobel Prize winners in physics, chemistry, economics and medicine have graduated from here in the past.

Students can choose to enter one of 15 faculties and 5 centers, including business, economics and statistics, law, science and others. In addition, 54 bachelor's, 112 master's and 11 doctoral programmes are offered to students.

Furthermore, the 55 education authorities and Studienpräses (the official organisation responsible for the implementation of the Education Act) are responsible for organising courses for students. There are 16 units under the management authority.

Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien), founded in 1815, is one of the world's top 200 educational institutions for 2021. Students have 8 faculties to choose from, including

The University of Innsbruck

Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck is located in the federal state of Tyrol, Innsbruck. It has had university status since 1669 and is the 3rd largest institution in Austria in terms of student numbers, around 45% of which are foreign nationals. The university is renowned for its major research developments in chemistry and molecular biology, and alumni include two Nobel Prize winners in physics and chemistry.

The disciplines taught at the university include both the Humanities and the Natural Sciences. There are 16 faculties and 83 departments, where you can choose from 170 different study options and further education programmes from a wide range of subject areas such as technology, theology, humanities, science, law, social sciences and economics. Moreover, the university has signed around 500 cooperation agreements with selected institutes and universities in 50 countries around the world, allowing students of the University of Innsbruck to expand and strengthen their knowledge abroad.

The Graz University of Technology

The Technische Universität Graz (TU Graz), located in the capital city in the federal state of Styria, was founded in 1811 and is one of Austria's two higher technical institutions of higher education along with the Technical University of Vienna. Among the most famous alumni is the physicist Nikola Tesla. The university currently has around 12,000 students, 20% of which are foreign nationals.

The Johannes Kepler University Linz

Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (JKU) was founded in 1965 as the "College of Social Sciences, Economics and Business" and was granted university status in 1975. The educational institution is located in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria and is named after the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler, who lived and worked near Linz. Students can choose from over 70 study programmes in a variety of fields such as medicine, law, engineering, computer science, pedagogy, natural sciences, social sciences and economics. The departments of economics and business are especially strong here.

Students have a wide choice of programmes of study, including 25 bachelor's, 37 master's and 8 doctoral degrees. In addition, the JKU is home to the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.The hallmarks of JKU are its modern, large campuses with academic buildings, science parks and a library. The University of Klagenfurt

The Universität Klagenfurt/Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (AAU) was founded in 1970 and is a public university and research center in Carinthia, in its capital Klagenfurt am Wörtherse. The university also has branches in 2 major Austrian cities: Vienna and Graz. The Universität Klagenfurt campus is situated in a picturesque location by Lake Wörthersee and the Klagenfurt Strandbad beach, just a 2-hour drive from the Adriatic Sea.

There are four departments for students to choose from: Humanities, Management and Economics, Technology and Interdisciplinary Studies. There are specifically many areas of study in philology, computer science and various areas of economics. The university offers a wide choice of programmes at different levels of education to choose from, including 18 bachelor's, 27 master's, 5 doctoral and 14 teacher training courses. It is worth noting that this university also offers diplomas in English in fields such as international business and economics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, computer science, mathematics, etc.

The University of Klagenfurt has more than 11,600 students, approximately 20% of whom are international students from over 100 countries, and many of the professors are foreign specialists. The Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz was founded in 1585 by order of Charles II. It is one of Austria's leading universities and has been home to a number of prominent scientists, including six Nobel Prize winners in chemistry, physics and medicine. The institution is a member of the Association of European Universities Utrecht Netzwerk, where summer schools, student and teacher exchanges and mutual degree-awarding are organised.
