ARE IS CONSTRUCTING THE COMMERCIAL PROJECT, DOCKS, IN VILLAGE IM DRITTEN

ARE, known as Austrian Real Estate, is slowly proceeding on the development of Village im Dritten in the third district of Vienna. The zoning plan for the 11-hectare area on Landstraße was approved in 2020 and has been underway since spring of this year.

At the same time, the developer started building Docks, which is a large commercial complex with a supermarket, restaurants, stores and offices. The project will comprise 2 long, low-storey structures, which will also serve as a noise barrier to the buzzing Landstraße.

During the press conference on September 19th, Cornelia Bredt, the neighbourhood manager, announced the start of sales of about 9,000 sq. m of commercial space in Docks. Until recently, this space was called Gürtelbogen.

According to Bredt, there will be a Billa supermarket in Docks, in addition to co-working space of about 750 sq. m. The project is due for completion in autumn 2024.

Village im Dritten relies on geothermal energy in line with the ongoing sustainability trend. There are also many photovoltaic modules on the roof, which aim to block the outdoor noise.
