Starting in 2025, the MICHELIN Guide will once again feature Austria’s best restaurants.
The MICHELIN Guide, which is globally recognised for its restaurant ratings, has made an exciting announcement. Starting from January 2025, the guide will once again feature a comprehensive selection of the top restaurants in Austria.
The announcement has garnered significant support from 8 provincial tourism organizations and the Austrian National Tourist Office, highlighting the collective enthusiasm for this development. Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger, CEO of Österreich Werbung, the official board of tourism in Austria, has expressed great excitement about this opportunity and believes that it will bring remarkable international exposure to Austrian businesses.
This initiative is an integral part of the national tourism strategy plan called "Plan T", which aims to position Austria as a premier culinary destination.
It is worth noting that the independence of the MICHELIN Guide ratings will remain intact, underscoring its reputation as the most rigorous standard for evaluating top international gastronomy. Mario Pulker, Chairman of the Gastronomy Association of the Chamber of Commerce, warmly welcomes the return of the Guide and emphasises the significance of the awards as a trusted seal of quality for guests.
Representatives from various provinces have stressed the invaluable partnership in increasing the international visibility of their respective regions. The revival of the collaboration between the MICHELIN Guide and Austria's top restaurants is expected to solidify Austria's presence on the international gourmet map and enhance the visibility of local gastronomy worldwide.
