Döbling, or the 19th district of Vienna, is located in the North-East of the city, on the edge of The Vienna Woods. This area is one of the most prestigious and popular ones of Vienna. Döbling uniquely combines a variety of green areas, proximity to the city centre, as well as a variety of leisure opportunities. Close to the vineyards, there are residential areas with villas, the urban railway, wide range of restaurants, new buildings and Art Nouveau structures.
The 19th district also includes famous wine-producing areas such as Grinzing, Neustift am Walde, Nussdorf and Sievering. Also, at their time, there lived such famous personalities and artists as Johann Strauss (father and son), Franz Werfel with his wife Alma Mahler-Werfel, Ludwig van Beethoven, Koloman Moser, Helmut Qualtinger and Peter Alexander.
